"What is a built-in vacuum system?"

A built-in vacuum system is the most powerful cleaning system available to the homeowner. The heart of the system is a high-power vacuum unit, which is installed away from the living areas of a home, typically in the garage or laundry room. It is connected to a network of PVC piping installed within the walls of the building (much like plumbing piping). To access the power of the unit, a hose is plugged into the wall in hose-shaped receptacles, called "inlets"; insertion of the hose activates the unit, so you have vacuum power at your fingertips. All you need for cleaning is the hose and whatever tool attachments you choose for the job at hand.
